Plastic Surgery for Men

Plastic surgery is becoming more common among men. Men of all ages, races and financial standing are choosing to undergo plastic surgery as it is a viable way to improve their appearance.

Some of the most popular plastic surgery procedures for men include:

  • Rhinoplasty or the reshaping of the nose
  • Facelift for a rejuvenated, youthful appearance
  • Abdominoplasty for a firm, toned midsection
  • Male Breast Reduction
  • Pectoral Implants
  • Calf Implants

A consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon will help you determine which cosmetic procedures are right for you. Each procedure carries some risk just as any surgery does. Your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon will discuss all potential risks as well as what you can do to reduce your chance of complications. For some this may include quitting smoking.

Treating Overdeveloped Breasts in Men

The condition known as Gynecomastia, or overdeveloped breasts in men, is actually a fairly common one. In many cases this condition will be grown out of, but for those in which that is not the case, it can be an extremely uncomfortable condition to have to deal with emotionally. Men with gynecomastia are often very self-conscious and teased by fellow peers. It can be very emotionally traumatizing. There are varying degrees of severity about men with gynecomastia ranging from slight to very severe. Some may even only develop it in one of the breasts.

The only treatment for gynecomastia is through Male Breast Reduction surgery. In this procedure an incision is generally made around the areola and excess fatty tissue and skin is removed. In some cases liposuction may also be used, depending on the case. The remaining skin will be closed creating a flatter, more masculine chest.

Gynecomastia treatment with Male Breast Reduction

Overdeveloped breasts in men, known as Gynecomastia, is a very common condition that usually, in most cases, is outgrown. However, for some men, it can stay with them for the rest of their life. This condition can be a sore source of teasing and insecurities. For these men Male Breast Reduction surgery may be the only way to achieve the chest they want. In a Male Breast Reduction procedure there is a small incision made around the areola and excess grandular tissue and skin is excised. Liposuction can also be used to remove any excess fatty tissues in the male breasts, or in other areas of the body.
