An important concern for many people who are considering Abdominoplasty, also called Tummy Tuck surgery, is the scars it can leave behind. In any kind of surgical procedure, you can expect to be left with some kind of scar. The severity of the scar often matches the severity of the procedures and size and length can vary. Thus, patients who are getting more extraneous work done will likely have a bigger scar than those who are in need of less work.
Patients who have a great excess of loose skin and fat will most likely be in need of a full tummy tuck which consists of tightening the abdominal muscles, removing fat deposits and excess skin. This kind of extensive procedure generally leaves a scar which runs from hip to hip. Most plastic surgeons will try to keep this scar along the area that will be hidden by most underwear and swimwear. View before and after photos of those who’ve undergone Abdominoplasty.

With age our skin begins to lose it’s elasticity and we lose valuable fat, particularly in the face. All of these things, coupled with the constant movement of facial expressions and the effects of gravity all work together in creating common signs of aging. Creases, wrinkles, fine lines, crows feet, sagging jowls and so on, can all make a person look older than they are or even make a person appear more sad, tired or upset than they are.
More than ever before, there are a plethora of options on the market for facial rejuvenation. There are non-invasive treatments, minimally invasive treatments and then, of course, their are surgical procedures. Each of these is designed to best suite varying degrees of aging severity. For those with more advanced signs of aging, or excess sagging skin, a Face Lift and Neck Lift is still the most effective options for creating a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Our eyelids are made up of three main components: skin, muscle and fat. As we age these three components begin to lose their structure causing them to sag and droop. This can make us look older than we are and more tired. To improve the eyelids there are three different areas which can be operated on: the Inner Lower, the Outer Lower, and the Upper Eyelid. The “inner” and outer” refer to whether the incision was made inside of the eyelid or outside the eyelid on the natural crease. Obviously the “upper” and “lower” refer to the upper eyelid or lower eyelid. It is possible to have both the upper and lower eyelids treated at the same time, too.
Blepharoplasty, more commonly referred to as an Eyelid Lift, is a procedure to remove excess fat, skin or muscle to create smoother, more alert and youthful looking eyes. Sometimes a patient presents with a few issues which can be improved through Blepharoplasty, such as puffiness, excess skin folds and wrinkles, along with a few issues which cannot be improved through Blepharoplasty, such as dark circles, crows feet or a heavy brow. To improve on the latter, a Plastic Surgeon may suggest a combination Blepharoplasty with another facial rejuvenation procedure such as a brow life, face lit or dermal fillers.

Here at My Plastic Surgeon USA, we believe that results will speak for themselves. As you may have heard, “A picture is worth a thousand words,” and we often find that cliche to be the truth. Most patients first judgments of a plastic surgeon are based not only on their education and background, but on the results seen in their previous patients.
Finding an example of a prior patient who had a similar issue as the one you are struggling with and being able to see their results, either good or bad, can be very powerful. It is recommended that if you find a result you are especially happy with and desire a similar outcome, that you print off the picture to bring it in to your consultation. Visual aides are always a good idea to ensure proper clarity in communicating what you want with your doctor.

Men and women who have undergone bariatric surgery or have lost a significant amount of weight through diet and exercise are most often left healthier, but slightly disappointed in the results. This disappointment is due to the excess sagging skin which occurs from the loss of elasticity in your skin making it unable to adjust to the body’s weight loss. This excess skin hides the stunning results achieved and can be very upsetting. In most cases, a Body Lift surgery is required after such weight loss to restore the skin to a more natural, smoother, tighter appearance which can reveal all the amazing progress of your weight loss.
A Body Lift procedure is not necessarily the same for each person, rather it can be achieved through a number or interchangeable procedures designed to fit your individual needs. Popular options include Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck), Buttock Lift, Breast Lift, Face and Neck Lift, Thigh Lift, and Brachioplasty (Arm Lift). In some cases, Liposuction may also be used to rid any excess, stubborn fat cells and create the most ideal results. Talking to a qualified, board-certified plastic surgeon is the first step in determining your options. At My Plastic Surgeon USA, one of our main priorities is bringing prospective patients and quality plastic surgeons together in the easiest, more effective way possible. There are a number of people who seek out Body Lift surgery for a number of reasons. Men and women who’ve lost a significant amount of weight and want to fully enjoy their hard work, but can’t completely enjoy their new bodies because now they are left with excess hanging skin. Women who’ve given birth and their mid-sections haven’t recovered back to their pre-baby taunt 6-pack and are left with stretched out abdominal muscles and sagging skin. Men and women who with age have watched the effects of gravity cause their skin to be pulled downwards and everything else with it. Whatever the case, whoever the person, the desire is the same: to get back their smooth, tighter skin.
A Body Lift surgery is not necessarily one surgery, but rather a term to describe any number of Body Lifting procedures such as Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck), Brachioplasty (Arm Lift), Thighplasty (Thigh Lift), Buttock Lift, Breast Lift, or Face and Neck Lift. Your Body Lift procedure is custom designed to meet whatever individual needs you may have and can include any or all of the above. Other procedures may also be done in conjunction with your Body Lift procedure such as Liposuction or Breast Augmentation. Talking to a skilled, Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon is the first step to discovering your options and to find out if you are a good candidate for the procedure.
