Meet Dr. Tachmes

Dr. Leonard Tachmes was born in Havana, Cuba in 1959, and raised in Miami Beach since 1961. A graduate of Miami Beach Senior High School, he received his BS degree from Duke University, and his MD degree from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia. He completed his fellowship training in Plastic Surgery of the Breast at the prestigious Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, in New York City; A residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Chicago Hospital, and a residency in General Surgery at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York.

Dr Tachmes is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. His areas of expertise include aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, ultrasonic liposuction, abdominoplasty surgery and general body contouring procedures. He is the author /co-author of fourteen scientific research papers published in various journals of medicine and surgery. He is in his thirteenth year of private practice in Miami.

Founded in September 2001, the Leonard Tachmes Gallery represents emerging and mid-career contemporary artists in various mediums, including painting, photography, sculpture, site-specific installation, performance art and video. The gallery also participates in secondary market sales of established contemporary artists for private and corporate collectors. Originally located in the NoMi Art District of North Miami, the gallery relocated to its present location in the booming Design District of Miami in the summer of 2005.
